Understanding the intended users of a design concept is a very important aspect of creating spaces that promote wellbeing. Achieving harmony between the space and its occupants requires project members to understand in detail, occupants' unique preferences and needs, we can design spaces that not only provide comfort but also allow individuals to flourish. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to designing for wellbeing; what may be considered a good design fit for one person could prevent challenges for another.

In this small course, we delve into the concept of User Profiles - we explore what they are, why we need them, and how to create them effectively. User Profiles are the foundation of meaningful design, they help us gain valuable insights into the people we're designing for, enabling us to craft environments that truly resonate with their needs and aspirations; and ultimately help them thrive.

We'll come together in a live Zoom workshop on the 2nd of October to put this knowledge into practice. This hands-on exercise will deepen your understanding of why these profiles matter and guide you through the process step by step.

With the Premium bundle, you'll have access to a 1:1 session with our team, to develop your User Profile strategy.

What to expect in this mini course

  • PART 1 - PHILOSOPHY AND OUTPUTS OF WELLBEING

The initial segment explores the concept of wellbeing, how we define it, which methods we can use to achieve it, and how it can influence the overall design of a space.

  • PART 2 - DESIGN IN PRACTICE

Design is a process; to achieve spaces that support wellbeing and productivity we need to follow some relevant processes and adopt certain tools that help designers on the job. In part 2 we start uncovering User Profiles, one of the key tools for designing for wellbeing.

  • IN PRACTICE

Each lesson concludes with a practical exercise which can be applied to a project, whether it's one you're currently engaged in or have recently completed. These exercises aim to enhance the application of the concepts and skills you've learned, providing valuable hand-on experience.

  • WORKSHOP

The workshop session will take place over Zoom on the 2nd of October, running from 12 pm to 2 pm. During this time, we will collaborate on crafting a user profile, enabling you to apply the knowledge gained.
